Integrate community engaged learning into your research and teaching to provide deeper learning experiences for students

Community Engaged Teaching Fellows

The Community Engaged Teaching Fellows program provides educators at UBC Vancouver with a structured and a cohort-based pathway to design community-engaged educational experiences. Faculty who join the Fellows’ community are eligible for a grant of up to $5000, supporting the effective development and delivery of community engaged learning in their courses and programs.

Social Impact Lab Toolkit

The Social Impact Lab (SIL) Toolkit is a modular, online tool for educators to integrate social-impact projects into coursework and other types of training. The SIL Toolkit consists of themes, learning outcomes, and lessons, which guide students through values exploration, working in diverse groups, systems analysis, and project planning.

Teaching & Learning Resources

CCEL designed a self-directed course for faculty and instructors aimed at developing community engaged learning content and materials for integration into classes.

The materials created will guide students toward the successful accomplishment of disciplinary learning outcomes through the use of community engaged learning pedagogical practice.

Advancing Community Engaged Learning Fund

The Advancing Community Engaged Learning Fund enables faculty and instructors to design, deliver, and integrate community engaged learning practices and processes into courses and programs.

Workshops

Workshops are designed to enhance students’ capacity to work ethically with community organizations. They provide participants with a great environment to explore social impact opportunities in and with the community, and to network with students across campus.
